AI for Good Innovation Factory: Meet the 2020 Innovation Champions
Greyparrot, a start-up which uses computer vision for waste management, has been voted the winner of the Innovation Factory Grand Finale held as part of the year-round AI for Good Summit 2020. The Innovation Factory is AI for Good's platform to showcase startups which use artificial intelligence to tackle global challenges, providing them with feedback, mentorship and potential partnerships in social impact entrepreneurship. Greyparrot and three other start-ups received the highest scores for their innovative, scalable AI solutions for waste management, air quality, child malnutrition and agriculture. Meet the expert jury During the live Innovation Factory Grand Finale, these four startups recognized as Innovation Champions presented their solutions to a jury of experts and a public audience who then voted for a winner. Greyparrot seeks to resolve the waste crisis by using AI-based computer vision to provide actionable insights for the 530 billion-dollar global waste management industry.
AI for Good Innovation Factory – The Grand Finale - AI for Good Global Summit 2020
The Innovation Factory Grand Finale will present the best four AI for Good startups who scored the highest scores throughout the Innovation Factory pitching this year. These four promising AI ventures have a great scalability potential for a global impact and are tackling the world's greatest challenges with their innovative AI solutions to achieve the SDGs in the fields of waste management, air quality, children malnutrition, and agriculture. The four startups will have the chance to present their solutions before a jury of experts who will evaluate their pitches and select the top winner. Investors and innovation experts will be present to announce possible partnerships and potential funding. The Grand Finale will start with an opening remarks from the ITU TSB Director (TBC), followed by the top startups presentations showcasing their solutions followed by discussions Q&A with jury, audience, or media on topics related to social impact of their solutions.
IDC: Top 10 worldwide IT predictions for 2020
With digital transformation initiatives flooding the enterprise, it's no surprise that by 2023, more than half of all worldwide GDP is predicted to be driven by products and services from digitally transformed industries, an IDC report found. This amount of digital integration indicates that the global economy will reach digital supremacy in the next couple years. IDC made predictions for 2020 and beyond during a live webcast on Tuesday. The findings were published in IDC's latest FutureScape report. IDC has documented the rise of the digital economy and digital transformations for the last five years.
